Bacterial vaginosis is the most common cause of vaginal infection. Bacterial vaginal infection comes under an important group of non-specific vaginitis.It is not generally considered to be a sexually transmitted infection and is caused by an imbalance of naturally occurring bacterial flora.Bacterial vaginosis is not dangerous, but it can cause disturbing symptoms. Any woman with an unusual discharge should be evaluated so that more serious infections such as chlamydia and gonorrhea, can be excluded. there are many home treatments, medicines and antibiotics for curing bacterial vaginosis ,some of curing methods.

1. One good bacterial vaginosis home cure is tea tree oil. this powerful antibacterial substance is safe to use and adding a few drops to a warm bath can help to kill off harmful bacteria.

2. Avoid eating non-vegetarian like fish, chicken, eggs for some days and consume eating fresh green vegetables, milk and ghee.

3. Avoid taking too much sugar and starches and have a good balance diet until recovery.

4. Take a cold hip bath twice a day to reduce and to relieve congestion in pelvic region and  plain warm water vaginal douches can be given daily.

Mainly recommended treatments for bacterial vaginosis are the antibiotics metronidazole and clindamycin.these drugs are safe  for treatment of bacterial vaginal during pregnancy. the only difference between treating pregnant and non-pregnant women with bacterial vaginosis is that dosage is different for pregnant women.

8. An infusion of tender guava leaves should be used as a vaginal douche.
